By Charles Ritch I have been raising Pastured Poultry and direct marketing for over 12 years. This is the single best resource I have seen. It is full of great ideas. I would recommed this book for someone with one chickcn all the way up to a big time pasture poultry producers.

A Must-Have for Anyone With Chickens Mar 11, 2006
By Robert Plamondon This book is filled cover-to-cover with advice and techniques you aren't going to find anywhere else. Written by and for farmers raising free-range eggs and pastured broilers, "Raising Poultry on Pasture" is a book with its sleeves rolled up, telling you what really works -- and what doesn't.
Even if you have only a couple of chickens in your backyard, this book will pay for itself with the ideas and better understanding you'll get from it.
Compiled from ten years of the American Pastured Poultry Association's fine newsletter (APPPA Grit!), 130 member-written articles cover every aspect of practical poultrykeeping.
My wife and I keep hundreds of free-range hens and also raise pastured broilers. We have been APPPA members for years. In spite of having most of the Grit back issues around here somewhere, this book, nicely laid out and fully indexed, is what we go to for reference.

Lots of important info for small farmers May 28, 2008
By R. B Long We've read Joel Salatin's book on pastured poultry. This book has articles by Mr. Salatin as well as pastured poultry producers from many other parts of the country. As a result you get a lot of of different methods to evaluate, some of which will work better for you in your location and climate than others. If you are interested in pastured poultry, but not very experienced, this book is a great investment.

Excellent Hodge-Podge Oct 16, 2008
By Padraic MacLeish This book is a compendium of wonderful information on almost every aspect of raising pastured poultry. Ideas and information on feeds, breeding, housing, processing, and even the business and insurance side of poultry farming are covered. It's well worth the money for any small-scale poultry farmer. The one downside is that, since it is a collection of articles published over several years, the information is sometimes incomplete, duplicated, or slightly disorganized. Don't expect it to be an easy reference book on any topic, but if you approach it as a wealth of great ideas from experienced farmers you won't be disappointed.

By Victor Noble Great resource and full of information, however I wished it had more pictures to show what they are talking about.
